what do I do now…

I just watched the season finale of season 3 of Smallville and it left so many crazy cliffhangers!! So I got all excited and looked forward to see if they would air the next episode on Monday, but to my disappointment I found that they are going right back to the first episode. Man I don’t know what to do now! I figured that ABC Family wouldn’t start showing episodes from season 4 because the WB isn’t done with season 4 yet, I was just hoping that I was wrong. So now I have to wait until season 4 comes out on DVD or ABC Family starts airing those episodes. I’m sure it will be a while considering that the WB itself is only halfway through season 4. But I’m looking on the bright side, and that is that I get to see all the episodes at the beginning that I didn’t get to see. Like the first episode that I’ve wanted to see for so long. YEAH MAN!I always knew that these ABC Family episodes would catch up with the WB, but I was hoping that it wouldn’t be so soon. Excuse me if I sound a little obsessed but there isn’t much else to think about around 7 pm on weeknights. Later!

apples and oranges

I found this really great article today that compares the new Mac Mini with the cheapest Dell. It really shows how they compare and makes a good point. The article mentions that when it comes to the Mac Mini, they stripped it down externally (no keyboard, display, or mouse) to make it cheaper, while most Windows PC manufacturers strip theirs down internally (less software, less peripherals, and less RAM). I thought that was really cool and it shows the skeptics that you get more bang for your buck if you buy a Mac as opposed to a Windows PC.

I recently worked on a computer for someone becuase it was running crazy slow and they couldn’t get AOL (….eww) to dail-up. I was looking through their system properties and found out that these poor souls had purchased a computer from Dell with a 2.5 Ghz processer (awesome) but they only had 128 mb a RAM!! I couldn’t believe it! What kind of computer only has 128 Mb now! Their computer ran ridiculously slow and they had one of the faster processors on the market. It made me really understand how necessary RAM is to have a fast machine. The moral of the story…..GO BUY RAM! And that is exactly what I told these people.

Now anyway. I know I haven’t posted in a few days but thats because I’ve been playing the cooooolest game on the XBOX right now man! MERCENARIES. That game is freakin awesome. You can blow up EVERYTHING! Its ridiculous! It’s like Grand Theft Auto but army styled. You’re after this group called the Deck of 52 (exactly like Iraqi playing cards), a group of North Korean terrorists. The one thing that makes this game shine to me is the sound. The bullets whiz by your head, and ricochet off things and actually have a “thick” bullet sound to them. Not your usual video game machine guns. Its awesome! Anyway, go play it because I know you guys will enjoy it.

I do what Lando does…

What Flavour Are You? I taste like Bread.I taste like Bread.

I am a staple in almost everyone’s diet. Friends like me are a complement to any other friends I get on with almost everyone, remaining mostly in the background, but providing substance when it would otherwise be lacking. What Flavour Are You?

What Video Game Character Are You? I am an Asteroid.I am an Asteroid.

I am a drifter. I go where life leads, which makes me usually a very calm and content sort of person. That or thoroughly apathetic. Usually I keep on doing whatever I’m doing, and it takes something special to make me change my mind. What Video Game Character Are You?

power to the people

You know, I was sitting around today just thinking that computers have given us so many capabilities that people just didn’t have before. People can now be their own journalists, film makers, radio personalities, and pretty much anything else we can dream up. It’s not like people couldn’t do these things before but now its so accessible for EVERYBODY!

There are people that are submitting films to the Sundance Film Festival now that are done using only a PC and a MiniDV camera! Editing wasn’t even feasible for people back in the day before PC’s and this software and what not. Now anybody that wants to can make movies. It’s nuts!

This recent thing I’ve discovered today that has been out for a long time is Podcasting. I love this stuff! I refuse to listen to the radio in the morning on my way to school because it’s really bad here. This podcasting has opened the door for me to hear new radio shows from EVERYWHERE. It’s basically audio feeds from different websites that let you download their broadcasts and put them on mp3 players. It’s awesome because they have this software called iPodder that automatically downloads the feeds that you subscribe to and puts them into iTunes then lets you transfer it to your iPod! It’s so cool! And now anybody with a microphone and imagination can get their voice all over the internet and on people’s iPods! Even if you don’t have an iPod, you can still use this software and transfer it to your mp3 players, it just integrates better with iTunes and the iPod, but its still simple for you non-iPodders. So check it out because they have some good channels, especially for the geeks out there.

TSS reunion!

Man, I just had so much fun listening to the old Screen Savers crew on this podcast from Leoville.com, Leo Laporte’s site. They were talking about MacWorld but there was plenty of shots at G4 haha. Kevin Rose, Patrick Norton, his wife, Leo Laporte, Roger Chang, and David Prager were all there just talking about stuff. It’s so much fun to listen to. If you’ve ever watched the old screen savers you guys should check it out. Kevin Rose has plans to start a web-based show that is basically the old screen savers. He’s even gonna have the old cast on there from time to time. I’m too excited. So go check it out HERE!

This is why I need to do The Screen Savers because I don’t know how to do this stuff. – Leo Laporte

hack a day

I’ve been checking out this site called hackaday.com and I now want to hack everything in my house! It’s so awesome what people do with their spare time. I wish I was creative enough to come up with even one of these awesome hacks. You guys should all check it out! They have hacks for everything from cellphones to digital cameras to ipods. It’s good stuff to look at if you just need a project to do. If I get around to doing one of these things I’ll post it on here. Later!
